WOAH! Standing ovation at the concert Tuesday night! You deserve it! I hope everyone had as good of a time as I did. I was proud to be your director and I will miss each and every one of you dearly! Concord Christmas Tree Lighting

Parents and members,

The holiday season is approaching very fast! I'm very excited to get into the holiday spirit with all of you at the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony downtown on Friday the 18th! Below you'll find a duplicate schedule from the letters I sent home for that evening:

6:00pm: Meet at St. James Lutheran Church in the sanctuary (located on corner of Union St and Corban Ave.) to rehearse with the other groups.

6:45pm: Assemble and walk together to the stage on Market Street. (Parents, please be prepared to walk with us! Thanks!)

7:00pm: We perform!

7:20pm: Depart the stage (Parents, please be ready to get your child immediately after the performance! Thanks!)

Downtown Concord Tree Lighting

Tomorrow morning at rehearsal, I'll be passing out important information about our performance at the Christmas Tree lighting in downtown Concord. Remember, if for any reason you're not going to make it to a rehearsal, please have your parents email or call me! Otherwise, you're marked with an unexcused absence!

Tonight at Curriculum Night, there will be information regarding this year's Chorus. Come by and see me! Starts at 6pm and goes till 7pm. I hear they are selling pizza in the cafeteria, too!

What a Year!

Students and parents,

This year has been a blast! Great job to all members of the 2011 Beverly Hills Chorus! I've got some photos I'm planning on posting, so be on the look-out for those! Thanks again to everyone's commitment to making this the best experience possible!

This Friday will be the last meeting of the year. We're going to celebrate, socialize, and plan for next year with an end-of-the-year chorus breakfast in my room at the regular rehearsal time. Thanks to all the parents who are sending food and drink to the party!

JM Robinson Performance

Just a reminder to parents and students that our last performance of the year is this coming Monday, the 16th! JM Robinson High School is sure to be a great venue! The school's address is: 300 Pitts School Rd. SW Concord, NC 28027. Just travel on Hwy 29 South and turn left on Pitts School Rd. Drive maybe half a mile and it's there on your right...you can't miss it! The concert is set to start at 6pm in the Auditorium. I sent home a letter about the meeting times. Just to recap:

Please be there at 5:30pm and don't forget to wear your t-shirt!

BHE Chorus Mall Performance

Getting excited about our performance at Carolina Mall tomorrow! We're going to combine forces with the Pitts School Elementary Chorus and put on a great show!

BHE Spring Concert

Alright! The time has come to present our entire program! Based on the audience reaction at our show during The Wellness Fair, I can't WAIT to hear what its like Tuesday night!

To all parents and students,

I need to make a change to the meet time on Tuesday night. I initially said meet at 6:00pm in Ms. Dancy's room...I need to change that to 6:30pm! Thanks and spread the word if you can!!!

W O W!!!!!!

Our first show of the year was a hit!!! I could tell everyone was really excited before the show began. We could hardly stand it! Great job to ALL chorus members! And how about Cameron, Connor, and Katelyn? They did outstanding! I think the audience really enjoyed the show, too. Can't wait till the next show on April 12th!

First Performance!

Our first performance is approaching! Next Tuesday, the 29th, the BHE Chorus will perform a few songs at The Wellness Fair. (We're not going to reveal the entire show. Folks will have to wait for that until our "official" concert on April 12th! Plus, we still need a couple rehearsals to work out some things.) The chorus is scheduled to sing towards the end of The Wellness Fair at around 6:45pm! Lets all meet in Ms. Dancy's 5th grade room across the hall from the cafeteria at 6:30pm.

Another Performance Schedule Update

The Saturday, April 16th performance time is changing to a later time in the day. It's been brought to my attention that an evening performance on a Saturday would fit better with parent and student schedules with regard to sporting events, etc. Also, the pancake breakfast is that morning as well which will make for one busy day! I'm going to contact the folks at Carolina Mall and get an exact performance time so we can get this firmed up. Thanks!

Performance schedule update!

Hey everyone! Please take note of the performance date list and mark your calendars! This is going to be a very exciting time for BHE Chorus! The exact performance times for the last two dates are TBD right now. However, I can tell you that I'm working on an 11:30am start time for the April 16th date. The May 16th date will be an evening show. And parents, the last two shows will be a combined performance with Pitts School Road Elementary Chorus! That means there will be 150+ kids performing! It's going to be spectacular! As the performance dates get closer, be on the look-out for more details with regard to meet times, etc... :)

Harmony

Wow, today I was so amazed and proud that the harmonies were coming together so well on "Imagine"! Harmony is a very difficult concept to grasp at a young age and you all have done so well with it. A big shout-out to the lead singers for projecting their part especially. I believe many students in this group have really started to improve! Keep on practicing at home and I'll see you next rehearsal!

The Beatles, if you didn't know, are one of the most important, influential, and successful musical groups in modern music. In the 1960's they took the world by storm with their upbeat music and sounds that so many people loved! My music teacher friend, Mr.Barnaba, made a track with the piano part to The Beatles song, "Imagine". So give it a listen at home on Youtube or maybe your parents have a copy of the song and we can try it this Friday at rehearsal! Looking forward to it!

Next Rehearsal

Get ready for some new material Friday morning! I think you're gonna really like this new tune!

Rehearsal this Friday???

With all the closings this week, who knows if we'll have school Friday! My opinion is that we will, and a 2-hour delay at the most. There will definitely be a rehearsal if we go to school at the regular time. If in the event we have a 2-hour delay I think it might be best to cancel rehearsal. If that's the case then maybe we'll make it up next week on a Thursday and have two rehearsals in a row.

School Performance Date

Okay, the first performance date so far is April 12th, here at school. The chorus will perform directly proceeding the PTO meeting! Can't wait!

So far this year...

The chorus is sounding great right now.  This year we've been very lucky to have Mr. Chase donate his time with attending morning rehearsals and accompanying us with his acoustic guitar skills! We've got a nice diverse line-up of songs we're working to get performance-ready:
